treasured WEDDING DAY possession?
When you come to think of it, there should be quite a few! In fact, you could be
spoilt for choice. Your wedding day will be the most wonderful day of your life
– the day you have waited for forever – the day that your dreams will come true.
In that beautiful dress – you will look like the perfect princess - and your
handsome prince charming will probably not be the only one trying to hold back a
tear as you step elegantly down the aisle.
It is going to be an absolutely wonderful day from beginning to end and when you are lying on an exotic sun kissed beach in paradise, you will of course be able to remember every single wonderful moment of it. In fact, all those priceless memories, all the atmosphere and emotions, the laughter and the tears - they will be etched upon your memory forever…won’t they?
Now I don’t want to be guilty of spoiling your dream but experience shows that this is sadly not the case. If you ask almost any bride what she remembers about her special day she will probably tell you that it all went by so fast that most of it was just a blur! There will be photographs, the procession into church, the wedding vows, signing the register, more photographs – a mother’s embrace, a father’s tear…. you’ll be meeting your guests, sipping champagne, listening to speeches and laughing together as you cut the cake. And then there is all the things that you will never see - the arrival of the groom and his entourage, the arrival of the bridesmaids - and of course, that most special person of all - you the bride. Just how many of these magic moments and memories will still be yours when you’ve returned from your paradise isle? Sadly, the mists of time and white sand will quickly erode those treasured memories of your once in a lifetime day.
The good news of course is that there is a now a way that you can relive your wedding day over and over again – with all it’s magic moments, atmospheres and memories. A famous film director once said ‘The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can convey emotions and moods in a way that no other medium can’. Those who produce television advertising have long understood the power of mixing moving images with evocative music and now this powerful medium is available for you to capture your special day with all with all it’s magic moments, atmospheres and emotions. A professionally produced wedding day film is the ultimate way of encapsulating the very essence of your very special day – a kaleidoscope of memories and sounds that you can share with family and friends, children and grand-children.
Forget the dreary, out of focus and wobbly videos you may have seen in the past, the new breed of professional videographers are producing high quality, imaginative wedding day films. Using digital camera technology and editing techniques, a variety of filming styles are now available and can be supplied on video tape, DVD or even streamed onto the web.
There are of course many different video companies to choose from and they vary significantly in cost, quality & style. As with all of the other services that you purchase for your special day, you are likely to get what you pay for. Do you really want to entrust the capturing of your most important day to a friend or relative with a hand-held camcorder? A high quality wedding day film can involve at least two cameramen for several hours on the day and an editor for the best part of a week and so you must expect that to be reflected in the price you pay. Any reputable company should be a member of a recognized professional organization, will specialize in producing wedding day films and be happy to demonstrate their work to you. They will hold professional insurance, their staff will have undergone training in the equipment they use, and they will ensure that the legal requirements in terms of licensing are met. Choosing the right one may seem a little daunting at first but as long as you know what kind of style you want and you are prepared to do your homework, then you should soon be able to decide which one is right for you. Remember that professional videographers get booked up for the most popular dates at least a year in advance.
So don’t waste any more time, make booking a wedding day film a top priority and you can be sure that it will simply become your most treasured wedding day possession.
